My Thoughts on the Auction Fundraiser:
Here is my personal plug for the Auction Fundraiser. :) Our school has done an amazing job with narrowing down the fundraisers to two a year- Renaissance Adventure Day (RAD Day) and an Auction Fundraiser. These have become meaningful and celebrated rituals of Renaissance. One of the things that I love most about these is how HUGE of an impact these have for students, teachers, and classrooms. When I first started teaching at Renaissance, there were only a few computers carts for the whole school--- now we have a computer or iPad cart in every classroom! This is so amazing to prepare students as digital learners. Another year, the money was used to purchase our white buses that allow our school to have more opportunities to do authentic fieldwork. WOW! I LOVE THAT RENAISSANCE FUNDRAISING DIRECTLY IMPACTS OUR LEARNERS! So money aside, this is a super fun night, where you get to dress up and connect with other Renaissance parents. Every year, my husband and I look forward to this evening. Please consider coming. It is such a great event for a great cause- your kids! I hope to see you there! Buy your tickets today!

We'll have hors d'oeuvres & signature drinks to enjoy while you bid on awesome items and experiences in the Silent & Live Auctions including Teacher Time, Crew Art, exclusive Travel Packages, theme baskets & more!
Enjoy this adults-only event to visit with other Renaissance parents and our teachers and staff. Childcare will be available, provided by RSS! Whether you're looking to cut a rug on the dance floor, take pictures at the photo booth, or take home one of our prize packages, there's something for everyone while we support our school!
Tickets On Sale Now! Now through February 10th, individual tickets are $65 and couples tickets are just $85! For families and businesses that wish to sponsor our event, each level of sponsorship also includes event tickets for you and all your friends!
Voyage Chaperones: (repeat from email)
This is the time of year when Ms. Bethany and I look ahead to our Voyage (overnight experience) at Camp Elim in Woodland Park on Wednesday, May 17th to Thursday, May 18th. This is a wonderful and culminating Crew Experience for our crew! Please note that our Day of Rest will be Friday, May 19th (which means no school for kindergarten on this day). We need parent chaperones for this Voyage. If you would like to be a chaperone please email me and I will put your name on a Potential Chaperone List. Also, please let me know if you would be willing to drive yourself or students. If we have more chaperones than we need, we put names in a hat and draw out names. We will confirm chaperones before Spring Break. Additionally, we will be sending out a Google Presentation in the next few weeks to give you more information about the Gear List, what to expect, and answer any questions.

Crew Highlights
Happy Valentine's Day Crew! 💗
We lined boxes up in alphabetical order, and students took turns passing out their cards.
What a big job to match all 24 names!
Later in the day, students had a quiet time to look at and appreciate EACH card. It was sweet to see their ear-to-ear smiles and the joy that each card brought. I put individual pictures on Seesaw.
A big shoutout to our families for your help at home. Thank YOU for investing the time and effort to help make this card exhange such a thoughtful, tender event. I truly appreciate it!

Students chose to make an extra special Valentine for someone in their family.
Ms. Monica read "How to Fill A Bucket" during Crew Skills.
Last week was National Counselor's Week, and I would like to give an extra SHOUT OUT to how amazing Ms. Monica is and how lucky we are to have her!
A highlight of the week was when we went to the skatepark for fieldwork.
Our crew made connections to our learning about inclined planes, wheel & axles, gravity, slope, and how the slope/height of the incline was tied to the speed of the rolling object.

The Beat was EXTRA fun!
It started with a wonderful message about the meaning of service and everyone in Ms. Sami's 4th grade crew shared their personal experiences/acts of service.
THEN, each crew got to help set up the domino of cereal boxes.
They collected 349!
What an incredible schoolwide donation to our local food bank!
So exciting to see the cereal boxes fall like dominos! Thank you EVERRYONE for donating to this wonderful service project.
This week, we celebrated Officer Troy, our school SRO (school resource officer).

A HUGE thank you to Amy for donating this Terrecycle box for our crew to fill with pens, pencils, and markers. When we fill it, it can be sent off and recycled! Hooray! This box will live outside my door, and we will invite our school crew to join this initiative!
